Event Description:

The Yale Science Diplomats and Science in the News are proud to announce this year’s Science in the News Series!
Science in the News is a free, public lecture series given by Yale graduate students that aims to deconstruct complex scientific topics and explain them in a way that is easy to understand. Our goal is to make science fun and accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds. We want to provide people with a better understanding of the science underpinning many of the complex issues we hear about in the news every day.
On February 4th, SITN will discuss how close are humans to “boldy going where no one has gone before?” How do we find planets outside of our solar system? If we found a planet that could be our new home, what technology would we need to make the journey? And, once we reached the planet, what would it take to live there? At the opening session of the spring Science in the News series, three Yale scientists will give short 15 minute presentations about the reality of space travel and colonizing planets. No registration required.
