A continuation of the Mysteries of The Paston Treasure series. In this event, you will have the opportunity to bring your family to the YCBA to show them what you have learned about The Paston Treasure and the exhibit! Travel back in time to explore the 17th century Dutch painting, and see for yourself, the actual objects depicted in the painting alongside the work of art for the first time in over 300 years! The conch shells! The lobster! The mysterious woman who was erased from the painting and replaced by a clock!
During the event, students will practice Enhancing Observational Skills, a technique for medical students that uses original works of art in a museum setting to help strengthen observation and communication skills. Students will also work in small groups with a museum educator to practice these close-looking activities.
