Event Description:

Design for America (DFA) at Yale is excited to host a Design Thinking Workshop for Pathways to Science middle school students! The Workshop will bring students into Yale’s fabulous Center for Engineering, Innovation, and Design to introduce them to the principles of User-Centered Design (also called human-centered design). Students will have the chance to familiarize themselves with engineering processes focused on user needs and begin to think creatively and critically about the hidden aspects of design in our world and our products. They will work both individually and in group collaboration sessions to translate their imagination into actual physical prototypes using basic craft materials. This Workshop’s prompt will be “Redesigning Safety Gears.” The Design Thinking Workshop will take place on Saturday, March 5th from 1:45pm to 4pm.
Registration is limited to 30 Pathways Middle School students. Please register HERE.
