Event Description:

The Yale Center for British Art continues its free program for families with children who are five to twelve years of age and on the autism spectrum. Participants learn to look and respond to artwork in the museum’s galleries, engage in group conversations, complete a follow-up art project in a museum classroom, and much more. While the needs of individuals with autism are taken into account for the design of this program, it is also intended to be fun for parents, siblings, and other relatives too!
Preregistration is required. For more information or to register a child, contact Education (ycba.tours@yale.edu or (203) 432-2858) with your name, number, and a good time to reach you. A museum educator will contact you by phone to complete your registration.
While the Yale Center for British Art is closed for conservation, the program will meet off-site at the campus of Chapel Haven, 1040 Whalley Ave., New Haven.
This program is conducted by the Education department of the Yale Center for British Art in consultation with the Yale Child Study Center and is recommended by the Autism Parents Community (APC).
